Target To Lower Prices On 5,000 Items: Here's Where You Can Expect To See Savings
Target announced that it would lower prices on 5,000 "frequently shopped" items in its stores nationwide, the company said in a press release.
Those items include milk, meat, bread, soda, fresh fruit and vegetables, snacks, yogurt, peanut butter, coffee, diapers, paper towels, pet food, and more, the chain said in a Monday, May 20, news release. The new prices will be rolled out throughout the summer.

Bellport Man Arrested 46 Times, Nabbed For 10 Larcenies, Police Say
A Long Island man who police say has been arrested 46 times has been charged with 10 new larcenies across the region.
Emmitt Smith, age 43, of Bellport, was charged on Wednesday, April 24, with the larcenies that occurred across Nassau County, according to Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, an investigation was conducted that led to the arrest of Smith for the following larcenies:

MD Fugitives Captured In Takedown Of $100K Target Store Theft Ring In Stafford: Sheriff
A trio of Maryland men accused of stealing $100,000 worth of merchandise across multiple towns were arrested in Virginia.
Stafford County Sheriff deputies responding to Target at Stafford Market Place around 11:45 a.m. Thursday, April 18 were met by a group of men hiding skin care items in a large bin, the sheriff's office said in a news release.
Among the men were Wilbur Sibert, 58, of Hyattsville, MD; Delbert Henry, 47, of Frederick, MD; and Canbrin Smith, 31, of Upper Marlboro, MD, police said. As deputies arrived, the trio fled out a fire exit with the stolen items.

A Monmouth County man will remain in jail after he was accused of trying to kidnap a teen girl and groping a woman in a Target parking lot during a two-county crime spree, authorities said.
Quamel Benton, 35, of Farmingdale, was ordered by a judge on Wednesday, Apr. 10 to remain in Burlington County Jail through his trial, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release. A man from Florida was arrested in Washington Township for having illegal firearms after he and another man were initially busted for shoplifting from Target on Saturday, Feb. 3, police said on Facebook.
Upon arriving at Target, police encountered two men, age 37 and 40, respectively, from Miami Gardens, officers said. After taking the subjects into custody, one man was found to be carrying a loaded illegal handgun, police said.
